Acupuncture Yorba Linda, CA

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is when a set of needles is inserted into parts of the animal to promote healing. Each acupuncture point has a specific goal. This technique has been used in various veterinary practices for thousands of years and will treat any ailment. Although acupuncture will not cure every condition, it will work extremely well when there is an issue.

Small dogs and large dogs will actually respond to acupuncture differently. Small dogs will typically come and receive acupuncture because of musculoskeletal problems such as arthritis, intervertebral disk disease, or traumatic nerve injury. They also come in for skin problems such as lick granulomas and allergic dermatitis. Acupuncture can assist in healing all of these problems.

Arthroscopy (elbow dysplasia)

Arthroscopy is the examination of a joint using endoscopy. Arthroscopic surgery is quite common in human medicine and is becoming more common in veterinary medicine as well. It is a minimally invasive surgery on to repair or stabilize joints and ligaments. This technique can be used as a tool to diagnose problems after other noninvasive test results are inconclusive. Arthroscopy allows us to more thoroughly examine the joints so we can accurately diagnose and treat the problem. Your pet will experience less pain and recover faster than a traditional surgery procedure.

arthroscopic surgery is more limited to practice on cats and small dogs, as their joint spaces are often too small to accommodate the required equipment. However, we will evaluate and diagnose all pets to give you the best approach in making them happy and healthy again.

Endoscopy requires skill which can only come through an abundance of practice and a qualified veterinarian. Call us today and we can set up a consultation to review the symptoms, diagnose any joint problems, and formulate a plan to success for your pet.
